I graduated from Bernalillo High School in 1991 and received a BA from the University of New Mexico in 1996. I later enrolled in an MS program through the University of Phoenix and earned a Masters in Management Information Systems in 2003.
I have worked in both the private sector and in Federal and State government as an Information Technology professional. I have a detailed understanding of the Legislative process and the RFP process, giving me a good understanding of budget and contracts. With the exception of one year that I taught at BHS, my entire professional career has been in IT, holding various titles from Systems Engineer SME to Systems Administrator. My most notable title, however, is that of father. I have four children, three of whom are currently enrolled in the Bernalillo Public Schools system and one of whom has graduated. I have seen many changes in our school district and some of those changes are responsible for my run for School Board. Indiana, Ayden, Aleah, and Cristiano are my main focus; I truly want them to have the best opportunity in THIS district. Through the support of the community, family, and friends, I will work to improve the district and give our students, our teachers, and our Staff the best possible experience along with a high-quality education.
I will be committed to being the voice of the students, parents, and teachers. In an effort to make Bernalillo Public Schools better every step of the way, I hope to restore the culture and help take back our district through the input of all stakeholders. We have a unique makeup within BPS that I feel gets overlooked. We need to embrace our diversity and build bridges through parent and community involvement so that our culture is one of our strongest assets. We also need to increase responsibility, transparency and accountability to Bernalillo Public Schools
