      In salute and thanks to the Bernalillo Public Schools Board Members, January is National School Board Appreciation Month. This is an opportunity to build community awareness and understanding about the crucial role an elected board member assumes in a representative democracy. Their commitment to service and public education affects the present and future lives of our children and our communities. Thank you to each of our Board members for the dedication and service!

National School Board Association Conference

  • BPS Board along with Superintendent Attends National School Board Association Conference in San Antonio April 6th-9th.

    Board members and the superintendent attended sessions on safety / Security, community relations and improving the education system for everyone.

NMSBA Board of Directors Meeting

  • December 7-8 2018, Embassy Suites, Albuquerque, NM

     The New Mexico School Boards Association will conduct the 2018 Annual Convention beginning on Friday to include Keynote Speakers, the Delegate Assembly to adopt legislative priorities and elect state officers, Awards Luncheon to honor school board members with recognition and training awards The Convention continues on Saturday with a variety of breakout sessions on school governance and public education.

    The BPS Board of Education is sponsoring a District-Wide Read-a-Thon in support of increasing literacy with all students. The Read-A-Thon will begin in September with pizza prizes awarded to the class at each school who has read the most books during a given month.   The BPS Board of Education supports the work outlined in the new Striving Readers Grant which allocates over 2 million dollars over a three year period.
