This summer, balance exercise, rest, work, nutrition, spirituality and play.Help others without complaining.Read.It doesn’t matter what.Just do it.Write. Poetry, short stories or anything you choose.Play word games.Words are tools, so keep them sharp over the summer.
ADA New Mexico Camp for Kids
American Diabetes Association Camp for Kids is a residential camp in New Mexico for children 8 to 13 years old who have Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes.The camp provides a safe and fun camping environment that includes diabetes management and education.Campers are able to interact with peers and positive role models. They experience an independent and sharing environment. ADA Camp for Kids is a program of the New Mexico Area American Diabetes Association.The dates for Camp for Kids in 2011 are July 3 to 9.
Skilled health care is provided 24 hours a day by a team of physicians, nurses, dietitians, and diabetes educators. A glucose meter and strips are provided for each child.Meals are individualized for each camper.
Besides the medical staff, ADA Camp for Kids has a team of American Diabetes Association trained counselors and counselors-in-training.The camper/staff ratio meet/exceeds American Camping Association Guidelines.

There is a non-refundable deposit of $50 which is sent in with the application. The application deadline is June 7, 2011.Register soon as applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis.
The camp fee is $365 which is due June 21, 2011.
