![]() About our School At Roosevelt Elementary, children come first. The highly qualified, student-centered faculty and staff are committed to providing a caring school community where children gain the developmental, academic and social skills that will enable them to be life-long learners. Our school serves the academic needs of children from the town of Bernalillo, surrounding communities and neighboring pueblos. Children from 5 to 9 years old attend kimdergarten through second grade. Our 440 plus students reflect the multicultural makeup of the region: Hispanic, Native American and Caucasian. Roosevelt students are served by 26 certified teachers, 12 instructional assistants, a counselor, a certified librarian, 2 fine arts teachers, 1 music teacher, 3 P.E. teachers, a health assistant, and 3 office staff. Some of our staff are members of the community and have been with Bernalillo Public schools for many years. The school has four main buildings and several portables. The beautifully renovated library was donated by the town of Bernalillo. The cafeteria/gym is used for meals, P.E. and family/community activities, student performances and assemblies. Parents and families are welcome in our school but we ask that if you want to visit a classroom or teacher, please make an appointment so instruction will not be interrupted. |
