The goal of the 2010-2011 BHS Guidance Counseling Department is to actively live the BHS Vision Statement of Reaching Beyond Excellence by collaboratively working with all students, parents, teachers, Native American liaisons, staff members, administrators, and community to:

• Support student success
• Increase attendance rates
• Increase graduation rates
• Decrease drop-out rates and
• Facilitate student access to scholarship resources.

The BHS Guidance Counseling Department strives to achieve these goals by providing a quality, comprehensive guidance program addressing academic, personal/social, and career development. 

In doing so, the Guidance Counseling Department supports the BHS Mission Statement to Ensure the opportunity for excellence of the whole individual through an educational environment which encourages achievement, life-long learning, and global responsibility.

Through these efforts, the focus of the Guidance Counseling Department is on helping to prepare students to lead fulfilling lives and contribute as highly productive members of society.
