SchoolCenter Picture Erin C. Connor Reilly, MA '09, MA '93

Ms. Connor Reilly is enjoying the 15th year of her career with New Mexico public schools, serving for 13 years as a School Counselor within the Bernalillo and Albuquerque Public Schools.  Additionally, she worked for two years as a Prevention Specialist with the K-12 Drug-Free Schools & Communities Program within the Las Vegas City and West Las Vegas Schools in Northern New Mexico.  Ms. Connor Reilly has also worked on the Adolescent Chemical Dependency Units of in-patient treatment centers in both New Mexico and Georgia.  She was awarded the 2004 School Counselor of the Year - Honorary Mention by APS and nominated by her principal and colleagues in 2004 for the Distinguished Educator Recognition by the State of New Mexico Public Education Department.  Ms. Connor Reilly holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, with Minors in Business Administration and Philosophy, from Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame; a Master of Arts Degree in Guidance and Counseling from New Mexico Highlands University (1993); and a Master of Arts Degree in Organizational Learning and Instructional Technology from the University of New Mexico (2009).  She is from Atlanta, Georgia and has lived in New Mexico for the past 19 years. Ms. Connor Reilly is a life-long learner who enjoys spending time with her children and family. Her hobbies include reading, technology, skiing, sailing, kayaking, travel, and Notre Dame football.

 

Ms. Connor Reilly serves the BHS Freshmen (class of 2014) and re-classified freshmen (those students who have earned less than five credits last 2009-2010 school year).


Edelmira Franco, MA

Ms. Edelmira (Edie) Franco is a new addition this year to the BHS Counseling Department. Ms. Franco serves as Counselor for Native American Students at Bernalillo High School.  She is a licensed mental health counselor, licensed alcohol and drug abuse counselor, and a licensed K-12 school counselor.  Ms. Franco has worked as a school counselor for the past ten years, serving six years at the Santa Fe Indian School and four years at a public charter school in Santa Fe.

Ms. Franco has been providing private consulting in New Mexico for 21 years, specializing in multi-cultural youth and family counseling, program development, staff development, case management, and educational leadership.

Ms. Franco brings over 30 years of experience and education to the Native American Counselor position and is looking forward to working closely with all district staff, students, parents, and pueblo communities.

Ms. Franco’s personal school counseling mission statement is “To Develop S.C.H.O.L.A.R.S.  Successful, Compassionate, Healthy, Organized, Literate, Active, Responsible Students. “

Ms. Franco provides additional support services for BHS Native American Students, in addition to the services provided by the BHS Guidance Counselors.
